Salient Systems, a rapidly growing developer of Video Management Systems for the video surveillance market is seeking an experienced Systems Engineering - Systems Engineer for immediate employment.  We are in the process of expanding our Professional Services in support of our customer base and sales team.  The successful candidate will want to join an exciting fast-paced environment and have the opportunity to develop their skills and grow with our organization.  Fun, entrepreneurial spirit and initiative are key elements of the Salient environment.

Role & Responsibilities:

Currently we are seeking a C++ developer to expand our software development staff. The right candidate will have very strong C++ experience as well as knowledge of DirectX, .NET and lower-level Microsoft Windows development.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work in a collaborative, team oriented environment utilizing an iterative, agile software development process.
  • Strong C++ experience in general.
  • Commitment to software quality.
  • Client/Server development experience.
  • Ability to understand and work with data-feeds based on documented network protocols.
  • Comfortable writing and working with multi-threaded software.
  • Must thrive in a challenging environment where work performed has a direct impact on our clients’ experience(s).

Also a plus:

  • Experience with Microsoft COM/.NET, DirectX, DirectShow, ActiveX
  • Knowledge of image/video codecs and the Intel IPP libraries
  • Knowledge of C#
