Selling points. Every company has them but few take the time to explain exactly what each of their selling points means to the customer. Here at Salient, we’ve decided to expand on our product features and translate, in layman terms, the real world benefits to our users. The first feature we cover is our “no cost license upgrade” with a quote from our regional sales manager, Steve Davis:

“Analog to IP migration strategy might be the most important offering we have. Consider there are tens of thousands existing analog cameras connected to DVR’s that are at or nearing their end of life. Most people aren’t going to reinvest in DVR’s again so they need a cost effective, flexible solution to move forward. With Salient we future proof their investment by either keeping their analog cameras, switching to IP cameras, or both via our Hybrid NVR solution. The cost of our analog camera license includes the capture card which converts the analog signal to digital (MJPEG or MPEG4) so there isn’t a cost for an encoder. When they are ready to switch the analog camera to an IP camera we will supply the IP camera license for free as long as the capture card is returned to us. If they wish to have all IP cameras and /or encoders we support that also.”
