The TRIAD Model: A Collaborative Approach to School Safety and Student Success
The TRIAD School-Based Policing Model promotes collaboration for school safety, engaging students, staff, families, and the community. It shifts focus from punitive measures to restorative practices, aiming to prevent students from entering the “school-to-prison pipeline.” The model integrates School Resource Officers (SROs) as mentors and protectors, aligning their role with the school’s mission of fostering student success.
Murray Kogod, who developed this model, brings a wealth of experience in law enforcement and legal counsel. His career includes roles as NCIS Team SAC/Commander at Habersham County Sheriff’s Office, Colonel at Stephens County, and Assistant District Attorney. Kogod’s extensive background and education, including a Juris Doctorate and studies at the F.B.I. National Academy, inform his holistic approach to integrating law enforcement into the educational environment.
