Students, staff, faculty and visitors spend large portions of their day on our campuses outdoors, exposed to the elements while participating in hundreds of events, including competitions, fairs, camps, parades, and field research. With dangerous weather still the number one threat to our campuses, being weather aware and understanding what to do before dangerous weather strikes are critical to a comprehensive campus safety plan.

In this webinar, Dr. Kevin Kloesel, the meteorologist for the University of Oklahoma’s Department of Campus Safety, will provide resources needed to create all-weather hazard plans for campus activities ranging from small-donor functions to large athletic events.

Each webinar participant will be acclimated to the current research in weather hazard occurrence, detection, situational awareness tools, and sheltering protocols. The webinar will also include instructions on how to find and engage meteorological professionals in your area to help you with your weather alerting needs.
