At Salient, we’re proud to be making a sustainable impact by implementing a cutting-edge recycling system. By adopting “Single Stream” recycling, we’ve doubled the size of our recycling container outside – all without increasing our waste container. It’s a simple but powerful solution that makes it easy and convenient for our team to recycle and divert waste from landfills. With our commitment to environmental responsibility, we’re turning trash into treasure every day.
“Single stream” recycling is a more convenient and efficient way of recycling. Instead of sorting different materials into separate bins, all recyclable items are collected in one container. This means that paper, cardboard, plastic, and glass can all be put in the same bin. Once collected, these materials are taken to a facility where they are sorted and processed. This method has become increasingly popular in recent years and has helped to increase the amount of waste that is recycled.
As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability, we’ve introduced refillable water stations across the office. This simple yet effective measure has had a significant impact on reducing the amount of plastic waste generated in our workplace. By taking the time to refill our water bottles, we’re each doing our bit to contribute to the bigger picture. And we don’t stop there — we’re all about reducing our energy consumption as well, which is why we’ve switched to LED lighting in our offices.
Recycling Pallets:
We’ve found an innovative solution to a common problem faced by factories: the disposal of pallets. Rather than simply throwing them away, we’ve implemented a pallet recycling program with a local vendor. Not only does this ensure that our pallets avoid contributing to landfills. Our commitment to recycling even helps us conserve natural resources by reducing the need for new pallets made from precious wood.
Electronic Recycling Program:
As electronics continue to become a staple in the workplace, companies are faced with a daunting challenge: what to do with all of the electronic waste that accumulates? This is why our company has implemented an Electronics Recycling Program, which ensures that 100% of our electronic waste is properly disposed of through a trusted external vendor. By doing so, we are not only doing our part to keep harmful components like lead, mercury, and cadmium out of landfills, but we are also contributing to the preservation of natural resources. By reducing the need for mining and refining of precious metals used in electronics production, we are making a positive impact on the environment.
