A forensic video investigation almost never starts with footage. It starts with a report: an incident, a complaint, a partial description from a witness who remembers a jacket color and not much else. Everything that happens next used to be a manual translation problem, turning that fragment of information into hours of video review across however many cameras might have captured the event. A confirmed match must still leave the investigation and go somewhere to a case file, to legal, to law enforcement. That handoff is where a fast search can stall out if the platform treats it as an afterthought. Because the confirmed clips in Enhanced Search come from the same system managing chain of custody and retention for the rest of the facility’s video, there’s no separate export process bolted on after the fact: what an investigator confirms is already positioned to move into a case package without a second system in between.
