Security Operations Centers (SOC) come in all shapes and sizes. SOCs range from in-house brick and mortar SOCs, to virtual SOCs operating in the cloud environment, as well as outsourced contract SOCs that serve multiple clients. Few organizations have tapped into the value that they can derive from a well-structured and properly staffed SOC.
Mr. Mattice has built and managed numerous SOCs during his career in the private sector and provided SOC design and optimization advice to clients of his management consulting firm. He will provide insights on factors to consider when designing and then operating a SOC for your enterprise.

Mr. Mattice is a highly-regarded management consultant who served more than 30 years as a senior executive with three different major global corporations. His corporate responsibilities included Enterprise Risk Management; Business Risk Intelligence; Brand Protection; Information Asset Protection (both physical and logical); Enterprise Resiliency; Cyber; Personnel Security; Physical Security; and, Corporate Aviation. He established his consulting practice in 2007 (www.matticeassociates.com), which includes a well-known list of clients from small businesses to Fortune 10 corporations. The renowned Executive Summit Series forums focused at serving senior government and private sector executives in the fields of risk, security and resiliency also is part of Mattice and Associates LLC. In addition, he is President and Founder of the National Economic Security Alliance (www.4nesa.org), a nonpartisan IRS recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused at educating policy makers at the federal, state and local levels, as well as business leaders and the general public on issues affecting America’s Economic Security.
Mr. Mattice has served in leadership positions with numerous prestigious government and private sector organizations during his career, including as a committee chair on a Presidential Task Force established by President George H.W. Bush that was focused at revamping the government’s National Industrial Security Program. He also served as a member of the Inaugural Advisory Board for the U.S. Intelligence Community’s National Counterintelligence Center, along with a long list of public and private sector efforts for which he has received many awards, citations and other forms of recognition. He is the author of numerous articles and has co-authored/contributed to a number of books on topics such as enterprise risk management, cyber security, crisis management and enterprise resiliency. He is board certified in risk and information systems controls and is certified as an expert witness at both the Federal and State Court level.
